Charles H. Haderlie - Saw Mill
Left to Right: Charles H. Haderlie, Johannes Bartholomew Schiess, Frederick W. Haderlie, Carlett Haderlie, Clifford M. Haderlie
At various times over the years, Charles Henry Haderlie set up and operated at least three lumber mills, each of them at a different location. It appears that his largest and most productive mill was about two miles north of Thayne, Wyoming.
The mill north of Thayne was built in 1903. In 1904, Henry built a house about 140 yards northwest of that mill, where his second wife, Bertha, and her children lived. The lumber mill, house, farm outbuildings, and some acreage west of Salt River were commonly referred to as the “Thayne ranch.”
This mill caught on fire August 22, 1931
